the best things in life aren’t things

Okay I have a lot on my plate when I get home!!  I have to send out our Holiday Cards (haha)  they will get to you before Valentines day, get over it.  Get together a package to send to TX, take down Christmas stuff, finish Macy’s birth video, go to the doctor, go to the pediatrician, go to the dentist, finish painting the back porch, buy porch furniture, write about….. oh I don’t know 500 thank you notes…. (seriously at least 100- it just feels like five hundred) work on our 2009 budget, work on my exercise plan, figure out how I we can take vacations more often   haha….. and get Miss Thing on a sleeping schedule.  Piece of cake….. right?

Our neighbors just came over to say hi!  They are really cool.  They brought Macy a Curious George doll and book.  It’s so cute! 

Here’s the kicker.  There daughters name is Caroline (which as some of you know, was the number 1 name choice for a long time.)

Their dogs name is Macy.   Macy.  How super weird.

I totally forgot to blog about my dr. appointment last week.  The reason I know I didn’t blog is because everyone has been asking me!! hahaha

I left work a little after the shower thrown by my coworkers.  I was a little annoyed because it took me an hour to see the midwife.  The lady in front of me was having complications… (how dare she?!) haha  So… I had to ask for a pelvic exam (?!) and I had not effaced or dialted anymore.  Disappointing, but typical. 

I had gained some weight, but that was probably due to my swelling!  I have started to swell A LOT and it doesn’t go down after putting my feet up/ or in the morning after sleeping. 

My next appointment is tomorrow at 2:30.  No high expectations… but I will be 38 weeks.  Everybody is starting to give me that nervous look when they pass me in the hallway… like they are thinking  ::::: please don’t let your water break on my shoes :::::

"I can’t eat, I can’t sleep, but I can do a great imitation of a beached whale. Seriously, are we almost done with this?"

Couldn’t have said it better myself!! hahaha

Last night I dreamed I had the baby (it was a boy) and totally forgot to feed it.  For about…. three days.  Just forgot.  Never fed it in the hospital, forgot when I got home….Just totally forgot.

Haha and when I remembered I attempted to BF but…. well….  haha I won’t go into detail but I was doing it ALL WRONG.

For some reason the day after giving birth I decided to go to the DMV.  I sat next to a 12 year old kid who said "Why?" all the time and told me to get used to it because my kid would do it to.  NOT MY KID!  hahahaha

And Greg and I took the baby golfing.  At first I left it in the car (windows rolled down of course- like that makes it better) but Greg wanted to use the baby carrier and he was getting mad because he couldn’t swing his club with the baby hanging off of him.  (Baby was still screaming at this point because it hadn’t eaten yet…)

What a weird dream. 

O Holy Night….  look at the ticker. 

The baby is in the last block and is looking like a little butterball turkey. 

Who thinks it is coming before Thanksgiving?!!

Today was veterans day- NO WORK!  It was a much needed break.  Hopefully now I can shake the last of my cold.  I woke up at 8 on the dot.  It involved digging in the sheets and barking by both doggies.  They wanted to go out  

I had some breakfast and took some sudafed.  I watched a little daytime TV…. oh man I don’t think I can do that when I am staying home.  I hate most of the morning shows.  Kelly Ripa GRATES my nerves…. ahhhhhh

I took a three hour nap!  I must have needed it.  I pulled down some Christmas stuff but didn’t put anything out yet.  I was waiting for Greg because it is so much more fun to do with someone else!

Something I just want to vent about.  The EXPRESS line is for FAST people.  It says 10 items for a reason.  OMG I was in line for ten minutes at Publix.  

Baby has been moving a lot today, the feet are a LOT higher than normal!  I think the baby has "lightened" because it is a lot easier to breathe.  I think I am ready.  I have been so focused on having everything we need for the baby I haven’t really given labor and delivery much thought.  I think it’s better that way.  I don’t want to stress myself out.  I am SO GLAD I don’t know the sex of the baby!  It really makes no difference!  It is so exciting to imagine both.

I say this every Friday.  And I mean it with every fiber of my body! 

As the Brady’s say….. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-RAY!

I went to the doctor, strep test was negative (yay!)  After work we met Glen Mary Lisha, and Sarah at CARRABBAS…. mmmmmm my comfort food.  They had my favorite Bruschetta (Con Pesto) and I split the Chicken Parmesan with mashed potatos and spaghetti with Sar.  OH MY GOSH.  My mouth is watering thinking about it.  It was so yummy.  We had good conversation. 

A lot of people have been asking me "Are you okay?"    (It’s really sweet that they are concerned)

But…..one time I want to say….

"NO!!!!!!!" And fall over on the floor.  Just to see what they would do.

Hee hee……  It’s just such a funny mental picture I had to share my twisted thought.

This time change is really screwing me up.  It is 1:27 and I still don’t feel like eating lunch yet.  It was *SO AWESOME* to feel like I "slept in" this morning, since I did the on/off sleep all night. 

TMI ALERT!  To my friends who are pregnant now…. when it gets closer to the end…. be careful when you burp.  Sometimes it’s not just air.  Just my PSA for today….
