Lilypie 1st Birthday Ticker

Happy Birthday!

January 14, 2009

Today is Miss Molly’s birthday.  I can’t believe my baby is three.  I can remember when we first got Molly.  We debated for a few months to get a dog, because both of our apartment complexes didn’t allow dogs.  We saw a pomapoo at a pet store and I feel in love.  I did a lot of research to find a pomapoo, but most of them are bred on the west coast.  I finally found one in Virginia!  We met the lady at the North Carolina/Virginia State line.  Gosh she was so weird.  Looking back, Greg and I think she came from a puppy mill.  She was already abut 10 weeks old when we got her.  She was so tiny and so timid.  She wouldn’t walk anywhere, you had to pick her up to move her room to room.  We had to sneak her outside to use the bathroom.  She would cry whenever we weren’t here, so we took her to class with us sometimes!  She never made a peep.  Also, we would keep her in the car, thank goodness that was short term and the weather was nice.  Having Molly really prepared us for having kids.  I realized I wanted to be home with her, more than go out and leave her at home.  She was a big expense for us at the time, but now I can’t imagine life without her.  She really is a fantastic dog.  Once we got her potty trained she will not go in the house AT ALL.  She is a stealth eater and doesn’t like you to watch her… :)   She plays ball with herself and can be a down right brat sometimes when she is plying keep away from Lola.  She loves sun spots on the floor and hates the hard wood floors.  She won’t jump up on the couch, you have to pick her up (she has gotten better since she is so interested in Macy)  Everyonce in a while she will snuggle but for the most part she doesn’t invade our space.  She still hates baths, but is hysterical when she gets out of the tub.

Haha, Sarah and greg laugh but every time I even think abut anything happening to her, Lola or Tybee I just strat to bawl.  I am tearing up now! haha  I remember when we had had Molly for about a week and I started crying because I worried something might happen to her.  Greg said "Rachael, she is a little dog, they live forever.  She will NEVER DIE!"  That made me laugh and feel better.  My little margarita….
