(And for the record, I didn’t come up with those silly captions!!)

OMG- I knew it

Okay horoscopes are a crock and there is probably something in the bible about astrology, but ya’ll…. this is so funny.

This tells you how your relationship will be with your child according to the horoscope:

Aries (Greg) and Sagittarius (Baby)

Thrill Seekers

(I HIGHLIGHTED WHAT I THINK WILL BE TRUE!!)

You and your Sagittarius child make a great team. You’re both spirited types, always on the go, seeking the next adventure. You understand your little Sag’s need for freedom very well, and you gladly let him establish his independence. You’re even proud of the way he tests his boundaries. Besides, you’ve got your own trailblazing to do! Your best times together are spent out of the house, traveling, mountain-biking, or pursuing any other activity that combines physical exertion with thrills to keep you both engaged.

Remember, too, that your Sagittarius child needs ample mental stimulation as well as physical exertion. Take him to the library and the museum often, as fodder for his expansive, curious mind. Best of all, the fact that you’re both easily distracted shouldn’t be an issue. Your little Sag won’t mind following your lead, as long as you’re heading toward the next big experience.

Taurus( Rachael) and Sagittarius (Baby)

Let Your Child Roam

Your Sagittarius child is energetic and curious by nature and wants nothing more than to get out and roam the wide world. From an early age, he loves being outdoors regardless of the temperature or weather conditions, and he adores travel, even if it’s just a trip to the grocery store in a nearby town. But a camping trip or a visit to another country would be even better!

You appreciate your little one’s innate honesty, his sense of morality, and his happy heart, and while you’re certainly up for life’s many pleasures, you’re just not quite as adventurous as your child.

Stable and grounded, you prefer the comforts of home to breaking away from what’s familiar to stretch limits and investigate ideas. But your Sagittarius child thrives on adventure, so give him his freedom and allow him to explore the boundaries of his existence.

And this is what it says about Greg and I’s relationship as parents:
Taurus (Rachael) & Aries (Greg)

Covering All the Bases

Though equally involved with your children’s upbringing, you two are quite different in your parenting styles. This can create problems in the short run, but it challenges both of you to grow enough to overcome any difficulties. While the Aries mom or dad is spirited, fleet of foot, and highly energetic, the Taurus parent is calm, slow-paced, and patient. It’s Aries who gets everyone up and at ‘em in the morning, bolting down breakfast, and moving right on to the day’s work, but it will be gentle Taurus who tucks the little ones into bed at night after reading a bedtime story.

At least you are both warm and affectionate, so your kids always feel loved. Learning to parent together will require adjustments from you both, but between you are all the qualities necessary for raising happy, well-adjusted children.

Anyone forsee any problems?? HAHAHA

About the Sagittarius Child

Adventurer at Heart

Your Sagittarius son or daughter is a born adventurer. For Sagittarius children, life is all about experience. They want to zoom out into the world and gobble it up whole.

If your baby Sagittarius gets into all kinds of trouble before he can even walk, don’t be surprised! Sagittarius children like to explore well past the boundaries set for them by their parents.

Learning and understanding are your Sagittarius child’s primary needs, and as his parent, you can help him by making his life as fun, varied, and stimulating as possible. Family vacations will be a favorite, as will long, rambling adventures outdoors and rousing games of hide-and-seek in the backyard.

Your Sagittarius child is naturally athletic and will need to work off excess energy doing things that are playful and physical. Let him join the soccer or swim team, or take him along on your weekend hikes.

His mind needs plenty of stimulation, too, so provide your Sagittarius child with lots of books to read and documentary DVDs to watch, and take him to museums, zoos, and art galleries as often as possible. Indulge his need for freedom and engage him in far-flung discussions, noticing his universal outlook.

And finally, Sagittarius children tend to be bright, exuberant, optimistic,

and outgoing, which means they have a wide circle of friends.
Don’t expect your Sag child’s birthday parties to be small, intimate affairs —
there are just too many people who love being around this kid.
awwwwwwwwwwwww…………….

35 Weeks

October 30, 2008

From 3D Pregnancy website:

If you’re not just a little bit scared of the pain that occurs during labor and delivery, then you’re either very brave or totally in denial.  GUESS WHICH I AM!!  :D

35 Weeks

This Week’s Activity:

Prepare food to eat after your baby’s born. If you cook, start doubling recipes and freezing half. You and your partner will be too exhausted to cook in the first weeks after you bring your baby home and you’ll be thrilled to have healthy meals you can heat up fast. If you don’t cook, go around your neighborhood and pick up all the takeout and delivery menus you can find. You’ll be grateful for all the options at your fingertips.

::::Does this mean to buy gift cards for the places we eat?? HA::::

MOM, DESIREE, SARAH ya’ll save me!! hahahaha

Guess what!  The first ring Greg gave me was for my birthday, and it was a blue topaz.  Baby C’s birthstone is blue topaz (aka tourquise)  Coincidence?  naaaahhhhhhh

Awww man!

So.  I just got back from my doctor appointment.  It was pretty quick, only about 10 minutes in and out.  Weight and blood pressure looked good, babies heart rate was good, head is down, but fundal height is STILL TOO SMALL!  It is so frustrating.  And a little worrying.  I am still measuring 31 (weeks) and I should be 35.  The doctor ordered ANOTHER ultrasound which I scheduled for November 9 @ 3.  I am just really glad they have ultrasound capability at our facility now and I don’t have to go to 285 anymore!

I called my mom, and she is going with me.  She is so excited!  ;)   I don’t know, I think Greg will be wrong and it will be late!  either that or it just is in a weird position, causing it to measure small.  hmmmmmmm

Gene’s Birthday

I love having a big family.  I REALLY love the fact that my ENTIRE FAMILY (well- except Tyler who just went to college in TN) is about 45 minutes away at the most.  That is a lot of people.  And with all of those personalities you would think we would not get along, but we do! :)   Great grandparents ;) ;)

Anyway, tonight I went to Jack and Judy’s house for Gene’s dinner (HELLO- never miss a meal at the Horne’s!)  We had ribs, corn, broccoli cassarole, corn bread (which I tried for the first time) and macaroni and cheese.   Most people said I looked bigger than last weekend at the shower, and Sharon was laughing that her son was giving her a hard time because I beat her with the timing of thank you notes (she just had a birthday)  I can’ thelp it I hate having things hanging over my head, especially with the timing of the baby coming so unknown, I want to keep up!!

Adelaide (I think that’s how you spell it!) Gene’s…. sister/cousin oops I don’t know…was here from Ireland.  I love the way she talks and her stories.  Oh man…. she is a trip.    I love "adults" and their stories.  With the election coming up and the OBVIOUS party lines in the Copponex family, the topic of politics was treaded on lightly.  Luckily the World Series came on!!  :)

Everyone wants me to go stay with my parents but HELLO…. my bed is so much more comfortable.  I am falling asleep right now!! haha  Well it is 10:45, time for bed!  Halloween is so soon!  I can’t wait!  I don’t know why…. I’m not doing anything.

OH and ya’ll listen to Project 961 in the morning, Sarah and Ang may be on talking about going on the haunted cotton mill with the radio show.  They are freakin C-R-A-Z-Y if you ask me.  Chelsie, get ready Sarah will be sleeping with you for WEEKS!!! hahahaha

Are you a list person?

October 29, 2008

I am a list FREAK!

Right now I have a list of:

  • things to pack for the hospital
  • people to call, their numbers and who will be calling them
  • things we still need for the baby
  • things to do at the house before the baby comes
  • our expenses
  • things that are coming up

Please tell me other people do this too!  Is this an OCD thing?  Probably…  Okay I will confess something even WEIRDER.  I can’t stand a "crossed out" list, I know some people like to see what they have done and accomplished, but the mess and clutter of lines and handwritten lists drives me crazy.  I type them all up on the computer, delete what I have done and reprint a new list.  Oh the trees I waste.  Whatever.  :P   Did I mention some of the lists are color coded?  (this coming from a girl who used to have numbered hangers with all my clothes organized by type and color and were on a categorized list so I knew what I wore on what day.)  Oh boy…. this baby is in for the organizational trip of its life…. OR I am in for a complete upheval of the way I do things…. hmmmmm  that sounds more like it!!

Do you Snoogle?

October 28, 2008

I didn’t, until Sunday.  It took 34.5 weeks but I finally broke down and forked over the 55 bucks for one.  I knew that sleeping with LOTS (5-6) pillows helped me, but they kept falling off the bed and crowding Greg.  And I could tell he was wondering….so which pillow is for me?  Haha.  So I bought a Snoogle, a body pillow of sorts.  I still think it is to "skinny" in the area where I put my legs, but I guess it’s okay.  I definitely sleep better!  It doesn’t have a pillow case (HUH?) but you can buy one for $14… no thanks.  It is actually also very comfortable in the car. (passenger seat of course-which is where I have been riding lately)

And for those curious, here is a picture of a woman from the 80’s who is enjoying her snoogle…

Snoogle

Doesn’t she look SO HAPPY…. :P

Breast Feeding Class

Is over and done.  Hurray.  Man it is SO HARD to sit in a chair at work all day and then go to a class and have these restless legs!  My recommendation: take the classes earlier in pregnancy when you are more comfortable!  I am serious!

Greg made it to Florida.  When he was packing, Lola decided she wanted to go too.  Not that I am biased but  have the most adorable dogs ever…

I took the first picture, and about an hour later Greg took the second picture….

    Lola1                   Lola2

Speaking of dogs I am still sniffling after BAWLING for a good 5 minutes about Sarah’s roommates dog dying.  Never met the dog, but I am still teary eyed.  Seriously, the MERE MENTION of anything happening to Molly, Lola or Tybee  will immediately bring tears to my eyes.  Say whatcha want, they are my family!

Okay I am so exhausted, time to snuggle up with the new snoogle and try to sleep.  A review of the snoogle tomorrow! ;)

Don’t Start!

October 27, 2008

Baby is not allowed to come for the next seven days because Greg will be in Orlando/Jacksonville Florida for work and the GA vs. FL game.  (It’s not fair, but let’s not go there)  His last hurrah-sans baby!! I’m sucking in!  (Haha Joelle not really, don’t FREAK OUT!)

Funny moment at Target last night in the diaper aisle…

"Do you think all the diapers are the same quality, or that some brands are better than others?"
-Greg

"Well, that depends….."
-Rachael

"NO, Depends is a totally different kind of diaper."

-Greg

My husband, the comedian….. ahhhh I will miss him!

What a 34 week pregnant belly looks like

October 26, 2008

Small children and the faint of heart look away….  It ain’t pretty!!

Belly1

I like how I can’t fit into my own T-shirts anymore, so I have to wear Harley t-shirts.  With dragons.  Cute.

Belly2

Look at how lop-sided it is!! Haha

And guess who wanted to be unusually snuggly this morning?  She must have known she would make it on the blog… hee hee
