Let’s see…. Besides the obvious: changing diapers, lots of laundry and pizza eating we had a lot going on this weekend!
Thursday I met up with Gina and she watched Macy while I worked out! I hope Gina moves back to this side of Atlanta, because she is so good with Macy and I want her to be able to see her Aunts a lot! After I was done working out I got ready and went to Mary’s work so she could show off her Grandbaby to her coworkers.
Greg’s cousin Shannon was in town for the weekend so we had a "girls night" with a Mary Kay consultant. We were all expecting her to be selling makeup, but it was actually a skin care system called TimeWise. So far, I really like it!
Friday morning Greg and I woke up a little late and went to J. Christopher’s for brunch. I had never been there before! We met up with Lisha, Lauren, Shannon, Betsy, Gina, Granny, Aunt Cheryl, Aunt Judy, and Aunt Sharon. It was so great because they got to meet Shannon’s daughter Betsy. She and Macy are only 5 days apart! They are very close in size and cuteness!
Saturday I woke up VERY late… I think it was about 1:30! I have no idea why… I just needed the sleep I guess!! Mary and Glen were having a get together so Lance and Desiree came with us! I was SO GLAD because I Desiree loves pageants as much as I do, and Miss America was on. I could write a while separate blog about that, but I won’t!! hahaha We came home and it looked liek Santa had visited us. Diapers, blankets, and toys were covering the foyer! Sarah had brought over the stuff Angela had cleaned out of Jace’s room that he had outgrown. (Ang, the diapers are SO HUGE…. will Macy ever be that big? hahaha)
And today… well. I just cleaned. My usual Sunday. I did have a revelation though….. We were given a bottle set and the nipples are all different "levels" depending on how old they are, is how fast the liquid comes out. TOTALLY didn’t know that…. No wonder sometimes it is pouring all over her! I have actually thrown a nipple away because I thought it was bad!! hahahaha So I went to Toys R Us tonight and bought some level one nipples. They were out of formula, can you believe that?! Apparently, Toys R Us has started shipping their products less frequently to stores and that means they get formula less often. So I had to make another stop at Publix. Oh well. This afternoon was also Stephanie’s shower at the church. It was very nice and I think Macy took a little to much attention away from the bride…
Sorry Steph…. babies are such crowd pleasers!
That’s about it. Greg will be gone all week at Fort Stewart so I will be home alone. He hasn’t tried to talk me into staying at my parents yet but I am sure he will…
Possibly my most dedicated reader and commentor, Megan had a birthday today! Happy birthday girl! I have no idea how old you turned….? Maybe 27? I met up with her and some other co workers at Ninja for some hibachi. We had a great time… and I miss them so much…. not enough to rush back to work though
Megan, hope you liked your present… I can’t wait to tell you the story behind it.
So where were you? I was at the gym about 1.75 miles into my walk when Obama was sworn in. All the TV’s were on the coverage, and a few people even clapped. The TV’s are on closed caption, but you can hear the tv station by tuning into a certain radio station. I had my iPod so I was listening to my playlist "Sweatin to the Oldies" I think I was on ‘Walk this way’ by Run DMC. hahahaha
Anyway, Yo yo ma was on tv doing his instrumental thing and the closed caption said Yo ma ma. I laughed out loud. Made my day. Had to share.
Friday night Macy and I headed to O’Charley’s to meet some girlfriends! Macy can’t wait to meet her future friend, Valerie’s little girl! We did some SERIOUS baby talking and I felt a little bad for the high school guys behind us who got a 7th grade health lesson!! hee hee…. I am so excited Val is having a girl, and I can’t wait to get Jake and Greg together to talk baby girls!
On Saturday, Macy, Auntie Julie, Auntie Jeanette, Auntie Laurie, Angela, Jace and I went to Juliette, GA to eat at the Whistle Stop Cafe. This was where they filmed Fried Green Tomatoes! They food was great, but it was absolutely freezing! I think it was 16 degrees when I left my house! We drove the long way home and made stops wherever we wanted… old cemeteries, buildings, parks… whatever might be a cool picture. The best picture was by far taken in an abandoned silo…. I am waiting on Ang to upload it! It was super cool. This is one I took… I don’t have the photography degree though
I stopped in Social Circle to see Emily and Coleman. I can’t believe how much Cole has grown since I last saw him. He looks like his momma and he is so ADORABLE! Ahhhhh!!!!!!!!!
This is Cole giving Macy a kiss:
Holding her hand:
And just his cute little face:
After we visited for a while I went to Rick and Steph’s and had hamburgers! We watched a lot of The Real Housewives of Orange County. I will admit that I watch that show. It’s so funny to me how shallow those people are! They are so easy to make fun of! hee hee…..
Not much has happened today. Macy is a little fussy, but she’s gassy. hee hee. She has grown out of her newborn diapers but the size 1’s are WAY to big. Why is there such a difference in the sizes?
Besides "I love you", "Plain with nothing on it" is my second most used phrase. I found out the hard way that at McDonalds they don’t always know what "plain" is, so I started saying, "Plain with NOTHING ON IT" and sometimes I would throw in a "just meat and bread, NAKED"
I was definitely supposed to be a Copponex, because I quickly realized how picky Greg and his dad are. I can’t get Greg to try a strawberry to save my life! They are actually not as bad as I am. Here are some things I won’t eat: mayonaise, mustard, ketchup, dressing (except ceasar which was only recently) eggs, seafood (or anything that swims), most vegetables, wings, the list goes on and on it would be easier to tell you want I will eat!
I asked my mom one time, "Why don’t I like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? Have I even ever had one? " She said "No, I didn’t like jelly as a kid, so I thought you probably wouldn’t" So I blame her!! hahahahahaha No really, she was super picky when she was little, so she never made us eat anything we didn’t want. Don’t get me wrong…if we didn’t eat what she cooked we were going to bed hungry but usually she cooked things we like!! hahahaha
Mom claims some kind of conspiracy going on with me and Sarah. We like the same things, just not the same… for example, we both like Cheetos but I like the puffs and she likes the crunchy ones…. the examples could go on and on… but if we are trying something new, I will look at Sarah and say… "I like it, so you don’t like it right?" She will always say "YEAH!!" hahahaha
I write all of this, so Macy and I can look back and laugh one day. I doubt my tastes will change, but I hope I can get her to eat more of a variety than I do!
